Qualifications

This pathway combines two regulated qualifications that build both coaching capability and nutrition-focused confidence.

1) Focus Awards Level 5 Diploma in Health, Wellbeing and Lifestyle Management Coaching (RQF)
This diploma is built to develop your knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in coaching clients to support their health, wellbeing, and lifestyle. It covers key areas that matter in real coaching conversations, including physical wellbeing, mental health and trauma awareness, core nutrition principles, and behaviour change, helping you coach with structure and sensitivity rather than guesswork.

2) Level 6 Diploma in Healthcare and Nutritional Therapy (RQF)
This qualification strengthens the nutrition and health side of your skill set through applied, practical units such as applied nutrition, nutritional therapy for wellness, and using food and exercise to support health. It is assessed through written work plus evidence of competence, keeping learning grounded in real understanding and real-world application.

Together, these qualifications support you to coach confidently, speak about wellbeing with credibility, and offer clients a clearer, more structured journey from goals to outcomes.

Awarding body

The Level 5 Diploma is awarded by Focus Awards, the approved awarding body for that qualification. The Level 6 Diploma is offered through TQUK (Training Qualifications UK), an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation, with standards designed to ensure quality and consistency across delivery and assessment. This combination strengthens trust, because you are not simply learning “wellbeing content”, you are working towards regulated qualifications that carry recognised value in the UK.

What’s the Return on Investment (ROI)?

Wellbeing coaching can deliver strong ROI because it opens up progression across workplace wellbeing, health coaching services, community support programmes, and private client coaching. In the UK, health coach pay averages around £28,077 per year, giving a clear benchmark for entry roles and early progression. As you gain experience and move into lead responsibilities, Health and Wellbeing Lead roles (including NHS settings) show typical pay ranges around £31,704 to £49,130, with higher earners reported above that. Nutritional therapy routes can also support earning growth, with UK salary estimates for Nutritional Therapist roles often reported around £29k to £44k base pay (varies by employment type and client base).

  • Entry-level ROI: £26,000 to £31,000 (newly qualified wellbeing or health coach roles)
  • Mid-level ROI: £31,000 to £49,000 (Health and Wellbeing Lead level responsibility)
  • Senior ROI: £34,000 to £56,000+ (Health and Wellbeing Manager level, wider responsibility and strategy)
